Church

We're getting married at K's church, Saint James Parish. We chose this because both him and his family are parishioners which meant we got first dibs on the date for 2011, how could I pass that up?! Plus it's really pretty inside.

Ceremony Music

I know what 3 songs we're using during the ceremony:
Ava Maria--my grandmother's favorite song, she passed in 2006.
Joy of Mans' Desire
Canon in D

Sand Ceremony

Picture
We've decided to do a Sand Ceremony in lieu of a unity candle. We are going to include our moms in this as well. Our moms will pour a small amount of sand at the bottom of the vase as our base layer to represent our past and our families. My mom will pour sand from Cedar Point (where I grew up going to visit every summer) and K's mom will pour sand from Indiana Beach (where he grew up visiting). We will then pour sand from our favorite place, Key West to represent our future together. We are in the process of gathering sand from each of these places now.

Door decorations

I bought these paper mache letters at Paper Source, painted them navy, and will attach a green ribbon so that they will hang on the church doors. These will also be moved to the reception and hung on the reception doors. Very simply DIY project!
